South Korea’s only official PGA Tour event, “THE CJ CUP @ NINE BRIDGES (hereinafter, “THE CJ CUP”), will take place at club Nine Bridges in Jeju from Thursday, October 17th to Sunday, October 20th.

South Korea's only official PGA Tour event, played by star players

In its third installment this year, THE CJ CUP is South Korea’s only official PGA Tour event. This year's edition will feature a number of world-renowned star players, including defending champion and the world's No.1 ranked golfer Brooks Koepka, inaugural champion Justin Thomas, living PGA Tour legend Phil Mickelson, next-generation golf king Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Sergio García, and K.J. Super rookie Sung-jae Im, a native of Jeju who is the first Asian golfer to have been named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, will also participate in THE CJ CUP in his hometown and is set to deliver an energetic performance along with emerging stars such as Matthew Wolff and Collin Morikawa.

The total prize money for this installment of THE CJ Cup amounts to 9. 75 million USD, up 0.25 million USD from last year, and this is the biggest prize money allocated for all 2018-2019 PGA Tour official events except for the four major tournaments, The Players Championship, and The World Golf Championships.

The achievements of CJ Logistics, a driving engine behind The CJ CUP

CJ Logistics has been growing together with The CJ Cup since the event’s inaugural installment. Club Nine Bridges, which is managed by the Construction Division of CJ Logistics, has been designed to provide an ideal environment where golfers can prove their very best, and the club has been maintained to be suitable for world-class golf matches.

This year's course length is 7,241 yards, 57 yards longer than last year's, and the fairway widths of eight holes have also been narrowed to increase the difficulty of the course. As such, you can expect even more exciting matches this year. The sixth hole in particular has been increased in size by 39 yards to 495 yards, making it the longest hole of par 4, and it has therefore been transformed into a challenging hole for players to tackle.

Some of the PGA Tour players sponsored by CJ Logistics are also slated to meet Korean fans for the first time in a long time at THE CJ CUP. The players, who include Sung-jae Im, Si-woo Kim, Byeong-hun An, Sung-hoon Kang, and Gyeong-hun Lee, are expected to yield positive results in front of Korean fans at the event following their strong performances this year.

THE CJ CUP is broadcast live in 23 languages to 1 billion households in 226 countries in the world and plays a big role in promoting the nature and culture of Korea to the world. This year’s installment features 32 of the top 50 rankers of this season, including star golfers representing the U.S., Europe and Asia, and is hence garnering even more attention from golf fans in Korea and overseas.

As an indispensable partner of THE CJ CUP, CJ Logistics is also always striving to be the best as the world's leading comprehensive logistics company. We greatly look forward to the future developments of CJ Logistics based on continued support and progress to establish itself as a global brand.
