Governance
CJ Logistics has established an ESG Committee under our Board of Directors, systematically identifying and managing risks and opportunities that may impact the mid to long-term operation of its sustainable logistics services. This is based on a comprehensive double materiality assessment across environmental, social, and governance areas. Our ESG strategy is built on the goal of securing a competitive advantage through sustainable logistics services. To this end, we have defined three strategic directions and seven core themes, which are being implemented in a phased manner. Furthermore, we align our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) to generate ESG value in both environmental and social dimensions and contribute to achieving shared global goals. Our ESG Committee closely monitors the impact of rapidly evolving ESG issues on corporate management and external stakeholders, with the core objective of integrating these issues into company-wide management processes and business model strategies. We view ESG not merely as a matter of short-term risk, but as a framework for managing long-term risks and opportunities that are critical to securing future business competitiveness. The ESG Committee conducts strategic reviews and evaluations of ESG performance and improvement areas, working in close coordination with the ESG Management Council, the Management Support Office (including the ESG Team responsible for finance), and the ESG Working Group. This integrated governance system enables us to proactively respond to the expectations of stakeholders, including investors. In 2024, the ESG Committee convened four times and reviewed five key agenda items. We also incorporated ESG performance into the key performance indicators (KPIs) of our C-level ESG executive, including expanding resource circulation volume and enhancing competitiveness (10% weight) and strengthening carbon neutrality execution and management systems (5% weight).
